How this was built...
When's the last time you asked a carpenter what brand of nails he/she was using, or the kind of hammer? Well, OK, in the digital field the tools are still part of the culture, so here goes...

This is running in the open source Content Management System ("CMS") Drupal. It uses PHP and MySQL. I customized the site appearance provided by a Drupal theme called Aberdeen, and included other plug-in modules for additional functionality. The development community around this environment is very active and dedicated. Humble thanks for all the donated coding time it takes to get something like this up and running. Open source rules!

The content within many of the pages (XHTML, CSS) I authored in Coda, a sweet, very efficient coding tool. It's a step up in my opinion from BBedit and Dreamweaver, both of which do have certain strengths over Coda, but I have found big parts of the workflow in those industry workhorse programs either much too fussy or obscure.

Made and tested on various Macs. Tested mainly in Firefox and Safari. Also tested on a Dell running XP. Coding powered by fresh-roasted coffee from Stew Leonards.
