Illuminated Art Book 2

"Sampling the Landscape: Aspect" in ambient light. Accordion style art book with Japanese hinges, LEDs, and microprocessor (which is embedded in slip case, not shown).
"StL: Aspects" in dark space: Shown open in one possible configuration. Page illumination will change as various pages of the book are opened/closed.
This art book's 4"x8" pages are each illuminated by small LEDs controlled by a microprocessor. Switches and/or sensors in the pages detect when they are opened, which triggers programmed changes in the lighting. For certain of these scenes, the light cycles according to patterns sampled from the natural movement of leaves and grasses.
This book is part of my collaboration with Prof. Linda-Lauro Lazin for our Sampling the Landscape series, funded in part by a Faculty Development Grant at Pratt Institute.
