"Sampling the Landscape: Passage"
"Sampling the Landscape: Passage" Art book with embedded LEDs. As each page is opened, a signal is read by a microprocessor, which adjusts the brightness of the 16 LEDs mounted in the book.
Prototype art book with embedded LEDs. View 2.: As the visitor turns the pages, the book is programmed to present views of each page individually, as well as to vary the views seen through the pages.
This 4" x 6" art book has 4 pages, each presenting a changing light display, based on which pages have been opened or closed. The displays are a fanciful interpretation of changing landscapes at various times of day and season. This book is part of my collaboration with Prof. Linda-Lauro Lazin for our Sampling the Landscape series, funded in part by a Faculty Development Grant from Pratt Institute.

The controlling circuit and batteries are mounted behind the last page, making the book entirely portable.
