Simple collsion example in Director 11 Here is a simple example of how the new physics engine in Adobe Director 11 can be used in a collision scenario. Try the demo. (A new window will open. You may need to click in the window to get started.)

With the proper rigid body settings on the appropriate models, all the motion occurs "naturally" as the result of force calculations. Use the arrow keys to give the ball a push. You can also move the green box with the arrows while holding down SHIFT. (If you are manic enough, you may be able to knock both objects entirely out of the arena, since I have the gravity set fairly low.)

This example was built upon the demos here[1] and here[2] by Sridevi Aishwariya .G at Adobe Director Online. Good examples up there. (This is apparently an independent site. I wonder why there aren't more examples of the new features on Adobe's site?)

Contact me if you would like the open (.dir) version of this Director 11 file. The code isn't beautiful, but it works!

If you already have an older version of the Shockwave plug-in, it should update automatically. If not, here's the link to Adobe's installer.
